Dr. Goei earned her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, Chicago IL and a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. She joined the faculty at the Medical College of Georgia in 1999. Board-certified, Dr. Goei is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology, Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, and American Board of Ophthalmology. Her area of specialization is in the treatment of visual disorders of children with particular emphasis on retinopathy of prematurity and strabismus. Recently she has worked with basic scientists on a project demonstrating that eye position compensation improves estimates of response magnitude and receptive field geometry in alert monkeys. Dr. Goei serves as the co-director of the ophthalmology residency program.
